Your support will help refurbish and improve the education and rescue facilities within Hornsea Rescue Boat House - Just in time for our 25th Anniversary!
The Boat House plays a vital part within our community, it is a place of sea safe education as well as home to our essential volunteer lifeboat services.
We are a small charity that maintains a voluntary inshore rescue service along and off the coast of East Riding of Yorkshire. Working closely with all 999 services, with a direct link to HM Coast Guard to coordinate search and rescue. Our charitable objectives include water safety in all aspects, therefore we use numerous learning resources and facilitate regular community events to promote a safe and enjoyable coastline for our community.
Funding from Aviva Community Fund will support our educational facilities while maintaining our life-saving rescue facilities.
Education: We already have a wealth of knowledge and fantastic volunteers that can show children how to stay safe along our coast. We would love to offer more hands-on activities to help them experience the work we do, including how to look after the environment and what to do in emergencies.
Life-saving facilities: Our changing room, IT facilities and storage of vital equipment needs some love and care. The outside of the building also needs protecting from the harsh elements of the East Coast.
We save on average 50 lives a year and your vote will help save more!
